With a focus on ceviche, tacos, and tostadas, this spot offers a menu that is as diverse as it is delicious.

A Sneak Peek at the Menu

Let’s take a closer look at some of the signature dishes that make La Cevicheria a must-visit:

  1. Mejillones (Mussels)
A delightful appetizer, Mejillones is a great way to start your meal at La Cevicheria. These mussels are cooked to perfection and seasoned with just the right amount of spices, offering a rich, flavorful bite. Perfectly paired with a cold drink, this dish will surely set the tone for the rest of your meal.

  2. Plato Pescador (Fisherman’s Plate)
For those who want a bit of everything, the Plato Pescador is a fantastic choice. This dish features a medley of seafood—shrimp, fish, and calamari—served with rice, salad, and tortilla. It’s a generous plate that brings a true taste of the ocean to your table.

  3. Fried Calamari
If you’re a fan of crispy, perfectly fried seafood, La Cevicheria’s Fried Calamari is a must-try. Tender rings of calamari are lightly battered and fried until golden and crunchy. Paired with a tangy dipping sauce, it’s a satisfying appetizer that sets the stage for the more complex dishes that follow.

  4. Quesadilla de Queso (Cheese Quesadilla)
Simple yet flavorful, the Quesadilla de Queso is a classic favorite. Filled with melted cheese and served with salsa and guacamole, it’s a comforting dish that pairs well with the fresh ceviches on the menu.

  5. Guacamole with Chips
No Mexican meal is complete without Guacamole and Chips. The guacamole at La Cevicheria is made fresh daily, with perfectly mashed avocados, onions, cilantro, and a touch of lime. It’s the ideal snack while you wait for the rest of your meal, and the perfect side to accompany your main dishes.

  6. Mixta Tostadas de Ceviche (Mixed Ceviche Tostada)
One of the stars of the menu, the Mixta Tostadas de Ceviche is a delightful combination of fresh seafood, tangy citrus, and crunchy tostada. The mix of shrimp, fish, and octopus brings an explosion of flavors, perfectly complemented by the crispiness of the tostada.

  7. Camaron Tostadas de Ceviche (Shrimp Ceviche Tostada)
If you love shrimp, the Camaron Tostadas de Ceviche is a must-try. The shrimp are marinated in lime juice and mixed with fresh veggies and spices, resulting in a refreshing, zesty dish that highlights the sweetness of the shrimp.

  8. Burrito de Camaron Frito (Fried Shrimp Burrito)
For something a bit more filling, the Burrito de Camaron Frito offers a delicious combination of fried shrimp, rice, and veggies wrapped in a soft flour tortilla. It’s hearty, flavorful, and satisfying—perfect for a casual meal on the go.

  9. Tacos de Salmon (Salmon Tacos)
If you’re in the mood for tacos, the Tacos de Salmon are a must-order. Lightly grilled salmon is placed in a soft taco shell and topped with fresh vegetables, salsa, and avocado. The salmon is tender and flavorful, making these tacos a perfect combination of health and taste.

We just discovered this neighborhood place and the ceviche is amazing. Everything so fresh and flavorful. We got the pescado, Camerones y pulpo (fish, shrimp and octopus) ceviche and the sopa seven (because it has seven different types of seafood -- mussels, fish, shrimp, clams, calamari, crab, octopus). And then Très leches for desert (and Porto's has nothing on them). They got a Michelin star in 2019 and 2021, and they're overdue for another one. We'll definitely be retuning soon to try their specialty -- bloody clam ceviche.

Been going here since before the ownership change. Checked some of the bad reviews saying that the food has changed. Mercifully, it hasn't. Few things: 1) this place makes the best fried fish tacos, period. To get a close second you have to go all the way down to Tijuana Oyster Bar in San Diego. The fried fish tacos here are without parallel in LA, and that is factoring in Michelin star Holbox. 2) their caribeña seafood stew is still the best seafood stew I've had 3) the new decor is... whatever. But you don't come here for the decor. You come for the ceviche, the fish tacos, and the caribeña stew. Some also come for the bloody clams. Ignore the haters. This place is still absolutely killer, new owners notwithstanding.

It was empty when we got there and quickly filled up. Small place. No parking. Will need to pay meter. Service is ok. Food was decent. I came for the ceviche de concha negra. It was ok. I didn't like the fact that they make it spicy without you having a choice. Traditionally, this is served with saltin crackers. They give you tostadas. Not to crazy about that. Overall, food was acceptable. Be ready to pay with cash. They do have an atm inside, own by them! Not customer friendly if you ask me.

Finally got to try this highly reviewed restaurant. If I could give it a 3.5 stars I would. TL;DR: good flavors, high prices, cash only. The flavors were on point here. Both of our plates were delicious. We also order a tamarindo drink (homemade) and it was great. I recommend giving it a shot. The parking is a bit tough because it's near the city but it's not too bad. Service was ok but could be better. I don't like that it's cash only. They do have an ATM but please start accepting credit. The prices are crazy high too. My dish was like $20 and it was not a big portion. I did not leave the place feeling full. But at least it was delicious. Try it for yourself!
